Weddings at Elmore Court Gloucester – an English Country Garden

Weddings at Elmore Court in Gloucester, what a stunning location for the sunny Spring Wedding of Rachel & Tim Chandler! This ‘event exclusive’ venue has got it just right, we can see why they fell in love with it, we were spoilt for choice for photographic opportunities!  Rachel’s choice of Wedding Gown, ‘Mikaela’ from SJP Bridal and her Bridesmaid Cerys’s navy dress from Jenny Packham complimented the location  and the simple but beautiful bouquets, button holes, corsages and decorative flowers from Bespoke Flower Co. completed the effect. Rachel  had arrived having had her hair done and make up applied by Natasha Woods, we were able to be part of the getting ready process,  photographing the dress and accessories prior to Rachel  & Cerys getting ready as well as helping Mum with her finishing touches.   As Tim and his family arrived, along with his Best Man, Adam & his Dad, looking smart in their T M Lewin Navy suits and maroon ties, we helped with button holes and captured them whilst they were greeting other guests. The ceremony took place in the light, sunny Reception area of the house where Angharad James played the harp beautifully as Rachel entered on the arm of her very proud Dad who handed her to Tim so that they could exchange Wedding rings from Gem Time. There was an unusual twist as Rachel  & Tim walked back down the aisle the confetti was thrown!!! Drinks & canapes were served on the side lawn, Phil, Tim’s cousin acted as MC for the day and helped us get appropriate guests together for the requested photographs before announcing the time for everyone to make their way to the Gillyflower room where the Wedding Breakfast followed the great speeches. After a delicious meal the guests had plenty to occupy them with a ‘polaroid camera’ home made photo booth and signing the guest book.  As the weather had been so lovely we were able to take  Rachel  & Tim back outside for some more Bridal shots in the evening sun, the fire pit had been lit and guests were enjoying sitting outside even though the temperature was getting cool. Phil then announced the cake cutting, a simple 3 tier cake from M&S with ivory icing and sugar flowers as decoration. It was a delight to capture the First Dance, an unusually upbeat track Clean Bandit featuring Jess Glynn’s ‘rather be’ after which the band The White Rivers had everyone up on the dancefloor with their great covers of fab tracks. The staff at Elmore Court were fabulous,  attending to Rachel & Tim’s every need and looking after us too!!!  Can’t wait to shoot more weddings at Elmore Court – what a stunning country venue!

Weddings at Roch Castle Pembrokeshire – What a stunning Boutique Wedding Venue

Weddings at Roch Castle, what an an exciting new venue to add to our portfolio! This dramatic venue stands in a stunning location just outside Haverfordwest in the Pembrokeshire countryside!  Layla & Stuart wanted a very intimate wedding as the proposal had been so intimate, at home, and the castle is  perfect for just that as it has been sympathetically restored in a contemporary design with beautiful, soft, furnishings. Llayla got ready in one of the 6 modern decorated bedrooms where the hairdresser had come to do Layla and her Mum’s hair, they applied their own make up – beautifully – and when it was time to put on Layla’s beautiful fitted lace and crystal Aphrodite dress from The Tailor’s Cat in Cambridge her Mum was on hand to do up all of the buttons and assist with putting her shoes and jewellery. The flowers looked and smelt wonderful, they were perfectly matched to Layla’s chosen colour theme of lilac and ivory, Tussie Mussie had done a grand job of the bouquet, button holes, corsages and displays around the castle’s rooms, including decorating the cake that was from M&S.  We went to find Stuart and his Best Man Will, his Mum & Dad and 2 brothers and two Sisters and capture them together outside, whilst it was still dry.  The boys looked very smart in their grey Moss Bross suits with lilac waistcoats to compliment the theme running through the whole wedding.  The 23 guests made up of close family and friends enjoyed a lovely ceremony where Stuart’s Sister, Sarah, gave a reading and the Cambrian String Quartet played beautifully before, during the ‘register signing’ and afterwards whilst the guests enjoyed drinks and canapes.  It remained dry so that we could take the guests outside for photographs, using the drawbridge and below to include a confetti shot.  The Castle is surrounded by pretty gardens and stone walls, it was great to literally walk a circuit with Layla & Stuart, capturing the venue and them from all angles!  We left them as they sat down to their sumptuous meal prepared by the resident Chef in the cosy dining room.  Can’t wait to shoot more weddings at Roch Castle – just beautiful!
