Pencoed House Estate was the beautiful setting for this lovely couple’s wedding day, a rare sunny day in April as their theme was all about the countryside and wild flowers, befitting of their chosen ceremony venue the gorgeous St John the Baptist Church, in Penhow. It sits on the top of a hill surrounded by fields, just down the road from Rachel’s parents home, we met up with Michael and his Groomsmen and Family there, his Brother Fergus stepping up to his Best man duties and Rachel’s Brother being Usher. It was a pleasure for everyone arriving in their own cars or on the bus provided to see Michael and the Groomsmen waiting to greet them in their smart Navy Morning Suits from Austin Reed Hire, with pale blue cravattes to compliment them and the gorgeous Bridesmaids dresses that were from Asos. The Bridesmaids arrived with Rachel’s Mum, Michael’s niece and nephew joined them looking sooo cute, Lorcan performed perfect Page Boy duties and held a sign to walk down the aisle letting Michael know that Rachel was soon to follow! She did not disappoint and looked absolutely stunning in her Augusta Jones ‘Jo’ Wedding gown from Clifton Brides, all of the girls and the Church flowers were designed by Deacon’s Florist in Chepstow completed the vision. The church was quite small, but there was enough room for the guests and the Chepstow Male Voice Choir who were awesome and encouraged great singing!! In keeping with Michael’s Military roots, two of his former colleagues performed a ‘Guard of Honour’ at the entrance to the Church that made for a lovely photograph as the lovely couple were leaving. At Pencoed House Estate the continued weather allowed us to photograph around the grounds, taking in the front lawn with the stream and bridges, also using the outside of the barn for the group photographs. EJ Catering provided a delicious Wedding breakfast, once the speeches had taken place, unusually, so that everyone could relax and enjoy the food! once the amazing cake had been cut – made by a friend of theirs Sophie Beasley, the room was quickly cleared and the band The Cherry Beats set up to kick off the evening proceedings starting with the First dance, we left the Wedding Party with everyone on the dancefloor, clearly enjoying themselves!

Pencoed House was the fabulous venue for this lovely couple’s wedding. Emily & Huw had decided to have their ceremony and reception here, but Emily got ready at The Vale Hotel where she was joined by her Mum & Dad, Sue & Ken, Bridesmaids Jeni (her Sister) & Nerys (Huw’s Sister) and Flower Girl Mali-Mai, her neice. When we arrived everyone had done their make up and Louise McGee was finishing their hair, so we photographed all of the accessories that Emily had like bracelets that Huw had bought for her, that compliment her engagement and wedding rings, all from Tiffany. Pencoed House was the chosen venue for this Scottish/Welsh wedding! Rachel and Simon had a great day, it was dry and everyone was able to enjoy the grounds! We arrived at Rachel’s home that they share with her parents and Sister Helen, where Lauren & Emma were finishing the Make Up and hair respectively – here was where the proposal took place too!Continue reading
Here are a few of our favourite images from Andy & Paul’s Civil Partnership that took place at Pencoed House Estate. We arrived a bit earlier than planned and the boys were already virtually ready and the sun was shining, so we wasted no time in getting some fab photographs of the both of them in their ‘bridal’ cottage and the beautiful grounds prior to the ceremony! Andy looked extremely smart in his black suit which was complimented by a silver waistcoat and purple tie & handkerchief which went perfectly with Paul’s equally smart black and purple kilt attire that was from Dyfed Menswear! Both of their immediate families were getting ready in the cottage close to theirs so we captured family photographs, champagne toasts and more than a few emotional tears! The colour theme for the day was black, white, silver & purple, the ceremony/reception room had been decorated accordingly and looked stunning, only outshone by the magnificent cake that was displayed from the beginning of the day, made by Happy Occasions Cakes (aka Paul!) The beautiful flowers from Lisa at Bella B in Penarth added the final touch. Once the guests had been seated Paul was walked down the aisle by his Mum, Mary closely followed by Andy and his Mum, Ann. Once the Civil Partnership was completed and whilst the register was being signed a singer stood up to serenade us, however, she sang Abba’s ‘I do, I do, I do , I do, I do’ ….and before long all of the guests had joined in too!! We managed to get everyone outside for a big group photograph and confetti before the rain finally came, but the families and friends were happy to be photographed under umbrellas. Chrissy Marshall of Sensible Pencil entertained the guests by sketching their Caricatures, whilstShelley Fairplay played beautiful background music on her harp. The food provided by Spiros Catering was excellent. The speeches were fab from Paul & his Dad, Andy and his best friend Heidi. The whole day was kept smooth running by MC Jim Young who added messages from absent friends and family. The grand finale to the day was Andy & Paul doing their first dance which they had added their own twist to and had rehearsed a routine to perform to Shirley Bassey’s ‘get this party started’! It was amazing! The resident DJ made sure top tunes were played to keep everyone dancing!
