Cardiff Wedding Photography Pencoed House
Pencoed House was the chosen venue for this Scottish/Welsh wedding! Rachel and Simon had a great day, it was dry and everyone was able to enjoy the grounds! We arrived at Rachel’s home that they share with her parents and Sister Helen, where Lauren & Emma were finishing the Make Up and hair respectively – here was where the proposal took place too! We photographed Rachel’s gorgeous dress, bought from the Cardiff Bridal Centre, hanging up in Helen’s bedroom along with all of the other accessories that she had chosen to compliment it. Rachel’s 1 year old beautiful niece Alice was there too watching proceedings and once everyone was dressed – the Bridesmaids in beautiful long Navy gowns from Coast and Alice in her ivory dress and navy fur shrug – we took them all outside for some family and Bridal photographs. We left to meet up with Simon and his Mum, Best Man and Ushers at Pencoed House, prior to the ceremony, who were dressed very smartly in Kilts that were hired from Slater Menswear and to await the bridal party’s arrival! Rachel, her Dad and the Bridesmaids arrived in style driven by one of the Bridesmaid’s partner in his vintage VW Campervan, they were greeted by Jamie who served a glass of champagne to help steady the nerves! After a lovely ceremony, the guests enjoyed bucks fizz on the terrace whilst we took the family photographs and then took Rachel and Simon for a wander around the grounds to capture their Bridal portraits. A delicious meal was served by Cresta Caterers, whilst the Abbey String Quartet continued to play as beautifully as they had been all day, even some of the guests were singing along to the well known tunes. Once the speeches had taken place, Rachel & Simon cut their cake that was made by the mum of another one of their Bridesmaids and that brought that part of the day’s proceedings to a close. Roger Bowles arrived to pencil the guests caricatures much to everyone’s delight and the guests looked on whilst the boys had a game of football, kilts against suits – we think the kilts won, of course! There was plenty of entertainment including a sweet cart, fairground cartoon character boards, a props box and frame for amusing photos. The resident DJ played their First Dance and then succeeded in getting the guests straight up on to the dance floor to dance the night away.
