The best way to know what it will feel like having your photograph taken on your Wedding day is to have a Photo-Shoot before your Wedding day!!! Sera & Stu did just that! They really fancied a Beach session, but we also wanted to take advantage of the Rapeseed fields that were in abundance in the Vale of Glamorgan, so we headed to one that is on a Public Footpath route (it is important that you know that in advance so that you are not trespassing on farmer’s land) near Llantwit Major. We took full advantage of the pathways that are marked out in the field, so that it looked as if they were literally walking through the pretty yellow flowers, the lighting was perfect -the best time of day between 4 & 6pm at this time of the year (April). We then went off to the beach, the tide was on it’s way in which was great for being on the flat rocks but being near the water, much to Sera’s dismay! She handled it very well (even with the heels!!) and we had some fun shots of them walking at the water’s edge, incorporating the beautiful cliff face and the rocks at this dramatic and beautiful spot. It was only a short session, just enough to give you an idea of how we guide through the photographs on your Wedding day! We then photographed Sera & Stu’s amazing Wedding day at the Welsh College of Music and Drama and they both felt so much more relaxed about being photographed.

What an honour it is to photograph very good friends Ceri & Alex, newborn baby! Rose was just 12 days old when we met & photographed her for the first time, she was born on 19th December totally oblivious to the Christmas madness but also very much a family time, so perfect. Continue reading
West House Country Hotel Wedding Photography Llantwit Major
This wedding at the West House Country Hotel had an international feel to it, as Lizzy & Richie live in Australia! Richie was ‘coming home’ to get married, bringing Lizzy, Dee, the Maid of Honour and some close friends and family with him! Including their florist Matthew Landers, who provided the most amazing displays and Lizzy’s bouquet. We met them all at St James’s Church in Wick, where Lizzy was waiting in the Rolls Royce from Illtud Wedding Cars with Barrie, Richie’s dad who gave her away as Lizzy’s parents were unable to make the trip.Continue reading
It’s not everyday that Royalty walk past your house, living two doors away from the ancient St. Illtud’s Church has its advantages! The crowds gathered early with lots of young flag waving children lining the street waiting in anticipation for the scheduled arrival of Charles and Camilla. It wasn’t long before they arrived and they slowly made their way down each side of the street spending plenty of time greeting all the bystanders. They visited the recently renovated Galilee Chapel at the West end of the church and helped to plant a tree in the church grounds. They spent a further few minutes talking to the gathered locals before being whisked off on their busy schedule – what a lovely atmosphere!
This was our first ‘Cake Smash’ and we had so much fun! Elin didn’t so much as smash but delicately pick at the cake and clearly enjoyed the taste as each mouthful was followed by a ‘Mmmmmmm’! The Rainbow Cake was provided by Happy Occasion Cakes in Cwmbran and was delicious – as usual! They make bespoke cakes to order. We provided the cake stand and bunting and Mum provided the ‘frilly pants’. This portrait shoot is the last in the ‘Bump to Baby and onwards Package’, Mum, Rachel, didn’t want the maternity shoot but we first photographed Elin when she was 10 days old! We hope to be able to continue to photograph her throughout her young life and mark milestones with fun photo shoots!

At last, we finally got Gemma and her family along with her brother and girlfriend together for their ‘on location’ Family Beach Portrait Photography! It had been a grey though dry day but when we got to the beach the sun was peeking through the clouds throwing out fab rays on to the sea! Alfie & Isla loved running along the sand, though Isla was desperate to run in to the sea! We did a combination of images including one of all six of them for Gemma’s Mum & Dad as a Christmas present – but sshh they don’t know about it!! Fab idea!! The tide was out so Andy was able to get some reflection shots at the beach in Llantwit Major, we love to photograph at this beach as it provides a cool backdrop for Portrait Photography and includes the element of Landscape Photography too. The golden cliffs provide an alternative to the sea as a backdrop so we did some more there too.

This is part one of our Bumps to Baby Package which will include a choice from Maternity, Newborn, Toddler & 1st Birthday photo shoot. This is the maternity photography part of blooming mum to be Sarah. It will be a great honour to capture Sarah and her newborn’s precious first years journey. All these images were shot in one session with natural lighting or a very simple lighting set up. As it was still warm we even managed to take advantage of a lovely sunset down at our local beach. Our aim is to produce a set of stylish images that Sarah can look back on in years to come and remember that special time.

Here are a few of our favourite images from last Saturdays wedding of Kate & Bryn! We started at St Illtyd’s Church in Llantwit Major – we just had to walk out of front door and we were at work! In fact, everyone who contributed to their special day were local to Llantwit apart from the Men’s suits they were from Oh Suit Hire in Pontycymmer. Kate was driven to the church from her nearby home at Purlon Farm in Llantwit by her Uncle. It was a lovely service, taken by Father Anthony who knows the Powell family very well and blessed their beautiful rings that were from Crouch the Jewellers. The Bridesmaids arrived before Kate and her dad and we had the first look at their dresses, handmade by Kate as was her own Beautiful wedding dress! The whole theme of the day was about wild flowers, forest and the natural countryside, the Bridesmaids’ dresses reflected that and were simple in design. All of the Bridesmaids & Ushers including the Best Man were family members. Cresta Caterers provided beautiful food that was served to the guests in the ‘Cow Shed’, though you would never have guessed that it was a shed of any description as Kate & Bryn had worked amazingly hard at creating a wooded forest. The table plan, place and table names were all hand carved, with dried flowers for their centre pieces and even a tree stump for their cake stand. The cake was made by their next door neighbour, Stella, which Kate & Bryn cut with a sword! We shot all of the family portraits in the garden in front of the farm house and then the Bridal portraits in the surrounding field. The evening entertainment was provided by a DJ who followed the live performance of local band ‘Finding Fiona’!
