At St David’s Hotel, the wedding breakfast tables were named after landmarks in Paris, the location for this romantic couple’s proposal! On their wedding day we started at Kate & Rich’s home where hair was being done & Kate, her Mum and her Bridesmaids applied their own make up. Kate then stepped in to her beautiful St Patrick Hannela Wedding dress from High Society BridalShop in Cowbridge helped by Mum & Bridesmaids – whose dresses were from the Dessy range & also from High Society. We just had to drive a couple of minutes away to the Baptist church to meet up with Rich, his family, Best Man & Ushers, who looked so smart in their grey suits also from High Society with cravats to match the Bridesmaids. The church has a real affection in Kate’s family’s hearts as it is where her late Grandfather attended, the ceremony date was also his birthday, the service was lovely. We experienced a little shower just after the confetti had been thrown outside the church gate but luckily the skies brightened up on our way to Cardiff and we were able to photograph the gorgeous couple and their families and friends outside in the sunshine! Des Johnston was on hand helping to organise the guests on behalf of St David’s Hotel, we are always spoilt for choice of options of locations in and around the hotel to photograph from the grand foyer, to the grounds in front and to the side of the hotel, to the board walk surrounding it, to the tasteful & luxurious bedrooms. The guests enjoyed a slide show of photographs from Kate & Rich’s lives as children and growing up, including images taken by us on their pre-wedding shoot! After the tasty wedding breakfast, the hotel looked after us with lovely food too, they cut their stunning cake made by Emma Jane and soon after the hotel prepared the reception room for the evening proceedings, Kate & Rich took to the dancefloor to perform their First Dance, with a surprise for Rich, Kate had recorded the track ‘How long will I love you’ by Ellie Goulding. She has an amazing voice and it brought a tear to many guests eyes as well as Kate’s Mum! Can’t wait to catch up with them upon their return from their honeymoon to Dubai & Mauritus.

St Donat’s Castle and Church was the perfect setting on this sunny day in August! Jo got ready at her Mum Kathy’s house in Porthcawl along with her Sister Katie who was Matron of Honour, David’s Sister, Laura Bridesmaid and Flower Girl Darcey.Helen from Grove Videos was with us to capture them all helping Jo in to her Phil Collins Taffeta dress and add the gorgeous accessories. It was so nice to go outside and capture them all in the garden complete with their beautiful bouquets from Gutteridges in Porthcawl before heading off to St Donat’s Church where Alan from Grove Videos was with David, his Mum, Sue , Best Man, Chris and Ushers James & Eurfyl and page boys Josh & Finley, who all looked smart in their suits from Dyfed Menswear. Father Anthony Beer was very welcoming as usual. Once Jo had arrived in the stunning Vintage Rolls Royce supplied by Nigel at Rumney Wedding Carsher Mum walked her down the aisle to a nervous David. After a beautiful and sometimes humorous service, we took the short drive to the beach below St Donat’s Castle with Jo & David and even though the tide was in the cliffs and sea provided a stunning backdrop! Bryan Gunton kept the guests amused with magic tricks until it was time to enjoy the Wedding breakfast provided by Mr Banks and his fabulous staff from Town and Country Catering, proceedings included speeches and cutting of the cake that was made by Designers Cakes from Janet in Neath. We just had some time to take a few more photographs in the grounds (and the Ladies toilets!) before Justin Banwell from Black Panther Discosplayed their First Dance and kept the dance floor full continuously after that. Rachel the Wedding Plannerkept an eye on the whole day. We can’t wait to hear about their adventures from their honeymoon in Canada!

Extremely exciting photographing this gorgeous pair and their scrummy pooch Zak! We were honoured to be invited to Bex’s parent’s holiday cottage in Cornwall, so we took the opportunity to take their portraits in a place that is really dear to them and where they feel most relaxed. We had so much fun, Zak got in on the action in the gardens of Mount Edgcumbe House and then we took the steep walk on to the beach at Whitsand bay which was just gorgeous in the late afternoon sun – where we had enjoyed a fab breakfast earlier in the day in theCliff Top Cafe! Zak enjoyed running in and out of the water with them. We ended the session on the bank of the lake that is right in front of the cottage, so everywhere had a special meaning to them both!

Once again, an absolute pleasure to photograph these three gorgeous girls!!! This time was for Florence’s 10 month portrait shoot but of course her two big Sisters get involved too, which we love! Florence is so relaxed and smiley, it didn’t take us long at all to capture her having fun, encouraged by Bella & Millé. They know us so well now as we have been photographing them all over the last 6 years! It’s so nice to be invited in to the family home, everyone is really comfortable and the bedrooms and living room provided with lots of natural light. We first met Johanna & Marco 8 years ago when they asked us to photograph their wedding 7 years ago at St Pierre Golf Club and Spa! Since then we have photographed Johanna’s younger Sister’s wedding and children and her Older Sister’s children too, so they are keeping us busy, but more importantly we are keeping in contact with a great family!

TheGlen yr Afon Hotel is the chosen venue for Kate & Ben’s fab Wedding Day! We started in Caerleon for the second time that weekend and joined Kate, her parents, Julie & Phil, four Bridesmaids (including Kate’s Sister, Amy), a hairdresser and make up artist all getting ready for Kate’s big day! There was plenty of space to photograph all of the important detail that complimented Kate’s beautiful dress from All About Eve, including her pretty bouquet from Beadbox. The cars arrived from C&E Wedding carsto take Kate and her Dad, her Mum and the Bridesmaids the short drive to St Cadoc’s Church, just round the corner in Caerleon town centre. Here we met up with Ben and his best man and Ushers, looking very smart in their grey suits from Dyfed Menswear. After a lovely service, we organised the confetti to be thrown at the litch gate and then we all travelled to The Glen yr Afon Hotel where the Bride and Groom and their guests were met by the fabulous staff with welcome drinks. The weather was perfect so we were able to photograph all of the family and friends outside using the perfect steps at the entrance to The Glen yr Afon Hotel and the surrounding areas. After their gorgeous meal Kate & Ben cut their cake that had been lovingly made by Ben’s Auntie then came the speeches, which were fab and included a recorded speech from Ben’s twin brother who is away with the Navy and couldn’t be there in person to take on the Best Man duties! We left them at that point to enjoy the rest of their day and evening – including the Sweetie Cart that Kate’s Sister Amy had arranged!

We are thrilled that Rachel & Jos have asked us to capture the beautiful form of Rachel’s ‘bump’ and the landmark points of their first baby’s first year! We started in their home, focusing on the actual bump and then relocated to our fab beach at Llantwit Major to continue the shoot. The beach means a lot to both of them and will be a favourite spot to bring their little one when she arrives, so it was fitting that her first photographs were taken there. They are both very relaxed and were up for all of our suggestions, it was a perfect evening with a stunning sunset so we wanted to capture them in the evening glow, using the cliffs, water’s edge and the rocks. We met Rachel & Jos about 3 years ago when they asked us to photograph their wedding at The Bear Hotelin Cowbridge, nearly 2 years ago!

What a cutie Matilda is! Even though she is 4 weeks old and so a bit older than we would normally photograph for newborn she was born at 37 weeks and very relaxed and sleepy still so she performed beautifully for us! We had plenty of props to compliment her photo shoot and she looked so pretty with flowers and hearts being added to the scene. We were able to use the natural light in their dining area, so Matilda was very content in her own surroundings. It was lovely to meet Rachel & Lee , her Mummy & Daddy, who were also very relaxed and kept us topped up with coffee (& choccies!) and of course milk and wet wipes for Matilda!

Cardiff Wedding Photographer De Courceys – Sabrina & Matthew
So, De Courceys is the venue that Sabrina & Matthew chose for their lovely wedding! Caerleon was the starting point at Sabrina’s parent’s house, where Jenna prepared hair & make up for Sabrina, her Mum, Jayne, her Sister, Georgina and her Bridesmaid Lydia, they then all helped Sabrina in to her Maggie Sotterro dress from All About Eve adding jewellery and the veil before we took some photographs of them all with the view out of the window overlooking the River Severn! It was a short drive to St Julian’s Church, Newport where we caught up with Matthew’s family and Sabrina & Matthew’s very cute son, Logan, who was 17 months old! The service was lovely and after taking a few photographs after the ceremony at the church the happy couple were driven to De Courceys in fabulous cars from Perfect Day Wedding CarsWe had a beautiful sunny day so all of the photographs could be taken outside, before and after the wedding breakfast, which was perfect for the little treat that they had planned for the guests! Sabrina & Matthew released 2 doves provided by Lovey Dovey followed by Sabrina throwing her bouquet supplied by Hilarys Flowers. The whole day was captured by Craig & Abbie from Diamond Cut Wedding Videos Before the evening got started Sabrina & Matthew cut their cake, a gorgeous 3 tier sponge cake decorated with sugar flowers, it was from Celtic Cakes Studio. The DJ provided the fab tunes for their First Dance and got the guests dancing straight afterwards, there were flip flops provided for aching feet, what a thoughtful thing to do!

It is always an honour to be asked repeatedly to photograph families and this one is no exception. We first photographed these fab children 9 years ago and as you can see they still look gorgeous and the older ones are now young adults! We changed the back drop this time as they all fancied the beach at Llantwit such a contrast to the gardens we photographed in last time! A perfect time of day too with the sun setting to give a perfect glow. The results created the perfect birthday present for their Nan!

We were very honoured to be able to photograph baby Henry, especially as he was 4 and a half weeks early! We have known his parents, Katey & Rob, for many years and photographed their wedding in October 2012 at the Manor Parc Hotel, Thornhill, it is so nice to see them become a little family! We turned their dining area in to a temporary studio, using natural light and a couple of different backdrops. Henry obliged us by sleeping most of the time throughout his session and allowed us to change him in to a couple of different outfits. Katey & Rob stayed close by to calm him down if necessary and to offer refreshments – of the milk variety – when he needed topping up! Holly, their dog, also kept a close eye on proceedings though wouldn’t get too involved even though Henry would have loved a pic with her! We did manage to get Katey & Rob to have a couple of photographs with him too!
