Carten 100!  Cardiff to Tenby, 105 miles, on a bike, why would you?!!!!  To have a great day out with your cycling buddies and to raise money for charity of course!  We followed 1700 riders who started out from the Cardiff City Stadium and arrived in Tenby Town Centre anything from 71/2 to 14 hours later, it is not a competition so a very relaxed atmosphere with plenty of stops along the way at pubs, a harbour, organised water stations and village shops.  The weather was kind to them in the end, though most had got soaked first thing in the morning, the weather improved as the day went on and the sun shone which made the journey slightly easier even though there was a head wind on times – also made it more fun for us spectators too!!  It was an absolutely awesome achievement for everyone who took part and the organisers had done a brilliant job from transporting cyclists kit to laying on food & drink for them at the finish!

Wales Food Photography at Angela Gray’s Cookery School

Here are a few images from part two of a our shoot at Angela Gray’s Cookery School in Llanerch Vineyard, this time we photographed the ‘Lunch Club‘!  Angela and the team needed images for their fresh new website which has recently gone live.  Watching people’s faces whilst Angela was explaining what she was cooking, including methods and ingredients was fun, they were so captivated and delighted with the results – as were we!!!!  We were also lucky enough to have a pasta demonstration and got a chance to try out some of the equipment.  Sacha has even tried to make one of the pastry dishes – think she needs to go on a course with Angela!!!  Please click this link for further information on the cookery courses.

We were extremely honoured and feel very privileged to be asked to photograph Angela Gray, an amazing chef who runs a fantastic Cookery school at Llanerch Vineyard covering a multitude of cooking skills and incorporating cuisine from all around the world. Our remit was to photograph the kitchen side of the venue, highlighting the brand new NEFF appliances from Sigma3 and capturing the overall ambience of the school, which included photographing Angela herself demonstrating how to create several dishes using collections of ingredients representing several countries, such as UK, Italy,  Morocco and Thailand to name but a few! The perk of photographing food is that we get to eat it, it was the most amazing lunch! It is no wonder that Angela is in the Top 10 UK Cookery Schools!  Andy has had the pleasure of being one of her pupils on one of the many different types of courses she offers, Angela is a really lovely lady, very calm and the food he cooked under her supervision was absolutely delicious!  We are looking forward to photographing the ‘Lunch Club’ later this month!

Cycle tour of Britain

Cycle Tour of Britain

Managed to get out of the office yesterday afternoon and capture some shots of the Tour of Britain as the riders went through the pain barrier at the summit of Caerphilly Mountain.  Congratulations to Irish leg winner Sam Bennett – first two shots of rider in green!

Food Photography Wales Llansantffraed Court Hotel

Here are a few food photography images recently taken of the amazingly sumptuous food being produced at Llansantffraed Court Hotel near Abergavenny.  The Hotel’s philosophy is to use local organic produce wherever possible supplemented with their own freshly grown vegetables, herbs and fruit from their walled market garden.  The new kitchen team is led by the very talented Head Chef Mike Hendry, formerly from the Michelin Starred Crown at Whitebrook.  All the food photography was taken using natural light and environment in keeping with the organic approach of the hotel.  Our main obstacle on this unusually hot day was getting the deserts shot before the ice cream melted and of course controlling the urge to tuck straight in to the mouthwatering dishes!!!  The hardship in this line of work is the after shoot tasting, sheer heaven………!  Can’t wait to shoot more of their food – watch this space!

So if you fancy a real great dining experience, we can thoroughly recommend a visit, check out their menu options.
