Photography Workshop

Photography Workshop Wales

Here are a couple of images from yesterdays photography workshop in Llantwit Major, South Wales.  Dawn is always a great time of day along the Vale of Glamorgan coastline if you can get out of bed on time!  Yesterdays cloud formations just before sunrise were really colourful and a real treat.  All landscapes were taken using Canons 24mm tilt and shift lens.  The flowers were taken using the Canon 100mm 2.8l macro lens with a combination of natural window light with a hand held LED back light.  If anyone is interested in a photography workshop please contact us for further information and availability.

Cardiff wedding photographer Andy Stoyle and his wife Sacha have chosen a few of their favourite wedding photographs from Ruth & Marco’s wedding.  Ruth got ready in their home in Barry with her close family.  A vintage coach transported the guests to and from the church.  The wedding mass took place at St. Owain’s Church in Ystradowen.  After the ceremony we took the bridal photographs in a copse of trees in a field adjacent to the church.  We then had a request to take a shot of Marco & Ruth with their staff at Marco’s Cafe on the seafront at Barry Island, a first for this Cardiff wedding photographer.

Brocket Hall Wedding Photography

Brocket Hall Wedding

These are a few of our favourite wedding photos from Saba & Martin’s wedding at Brocket Hall near Hatfield in Hertfordshire.  This was the first time we had photographed a wedding at Brocket Hall so we arrived early to have a good look around.  There was no need to worry as the grounds at Brocket Hall are beautiful with so many great opportunities for wedding photography both inside and out.  We didn’t have to worry about the weather either which is not something we’ve said much this year, it was the hottest day of the year so far and all the guests were able to really make the most of the surroundings.  We decide to use both inside and out to take the bridal portraits as we felt that this would show the venue off.

Landscape Photography Wales

Here are a few of my favorite landscape photographs from last nights sunset on a stretch of the Vale of Glamorgan Coast, South Wales.  It was the first time I have photographed this section of the coast and I just got there in time as I didn’t think it would be such a long walk.  To make the most out of the destination I stayed until it got dark, it was a good job I packed my flashlight as I’m not sure I would have found the path back otherwise!  It is a really good spot for landscape photography, I spotted a number of other options, so it looks like I have to make a return visit!  Can anyone guess where it is?

Bear Hotel Cowbridge Wedding Photography Wales

These are a few of our favourite wedding photos from Rachel & Joseff’s wedding at The Bear Hotel Cowbridge.  Rachel got ready at her parents house in Rhoose with her family and bridesmaids.  It was a very relaxing start to the day.  Her Grandfather drove her to St. Illtud’s Church in Llantwit Major in his vintage Rolls Royce.  It is great to work in our local church, it is so lovely inside.  We did a few family groups at the church and finished the rest at the Bear Hotel Cowbridge.  We took Rachel and Jos on a short walk around Cowbridge Town and the Physic Garden to finish their Bridal Portraits.  Wedding Details:  Venue Bear Hotel Cowbridge, Dress by Ellis Bridal, Flowers by Cariad Designs, Shoes by Faith, Suits by Perfection, Honeymoon in Mexico.

Metropole Hotel Padstow Wedding Photography

Metropole Hotel Padstow Wedding

These are a few of our favourite wedding photos from Claire & Mike’s wedding at The Metropole Hotel Padstow, Cornwall.  Claire & Mike originally had a Welsh wedding planned but changed their minds when they found the Metropole Hotel Padstow.  We jumped at the chance when asked if we could still cover their special day.  We went a day early so we could check the hotel & surroundings.  They were both keen to get some beach shots, so we also went to Harlyn Bay and decided on using the headland area.  On the day the weather was great and Claire & Mike hired a VW Camper to take them to the beach.  As a bonus, there was a lovely ploughed field next to the headland.  We were able to take the rest of the family photographs in the gardens of the Metropole Hotel Padstow.  Wedding Details: Dress by Perfection Bridal, Suits by Dyfed Menswear, Rings by the Diamond Centre Wales, Shoes by Rainbow Couture.

Vale Hotel & Spa Wedding Photography

Vale Hotel & Spa Wedding

These are a few of our favourite wedding photos from Sheena & Nathan’s wedding at The Vale Hotel & Spa Hotel near Llantrisant.  Sheena got ready at the Vale Hotel & Spa with her close family and friend.  The ceremony was an intimate affair at Castell Coch in Tongwynlais.  We took a few family and bridal portraits at the castle before heading back to the Vale Hotel & Spa for the wedding reception.  The weather was fantastic and everyone enjoyed being outside, with the guests being treated to champagne and popcorn.  Wedding details: Dress and shoes by Allison Jayne, Suits by Dyfed Menswear, Rings by Fraser Hart Crouch, Bridesmaids dresses by High Society Cowbridge.

Miskin Manor Wedding Photography

Miskin Manor Wedding

These are a few of our favourite wedding photos from Gemma & Tom’s wedding photography at Miskin Manor near Llantrisant, South Wales.  The recent summer wedding of Gemma & Tom who flew home from Australia to get married at Miskin Manor in South Wales.  Amazingly for this summer the weather was beautiful and all their family and friends made the most of the lovely grounds at Miskin Manor.  As usual we were spoilt for choice to take the bridal wedding photographs and it was great to be able to use the extensive grounds and not have to worry about the rain.

St. Donats Castle Wedding Photography

St. Donats Castle Wedding

This post contains a choice of our favourite wedding photos from the wedding of Lucy & Julian who were married at St. Donats Castle in the Vale of Glamorgan.  Lucy got ready in a room provided by St. Donats Castle with her mum and bridesmaids.  As Julian is from Germany, the day had a definite Bavarian feel to it.  The ceremony was held inside because of the weather, but everyone went outside in the windy conditions after to have their drinks and hors d’oeuvres.  We were able to use areas both inside and outside the beautiful grounds at St. Donats Castle.  Lucy even braved the elements for an evening paddle in her wellies!!!
