The Wedding of Julia & Chris took place at The Angel Hotel Abergavenny on the windiest and wettest day in December, but it did not stop everyone enjoying themselves! We had a very warm welcome at Julia’s Mum & Dad’s home where Julia was getting ready. While Julia’s Dad was putting some finishing touches to his speech, we busied ourselves with photographing some of the lovely detail of the day including some gorgeous red roses from Love Lily. Julia’s friends Emma & Beth arrived to help her to get in to her beautiful Wedding dress, jewellery and veil. We went ahead to Our Lady’s St Michael’s Church in Abergavenny to meet up with Chris, his family and his Best Man Rob. Julia’s brothers, brothers in law and nephews were showing guests to their seats. The rain didn’t let up but Julia managed to get to the church in her Dad’s Mercedes without getting soaking wet and a beautiful service followed. Father Richard Simon, kindly, allowed us to take the Family photographs at the altar after the ceremony, we then continued to take the rest of the photographs at The Angel Hotel Abergavenny, where the Ballroom had been decorated fabulously for the Wedding breakfast. A Brass Band were playing Christmas tunes whilst the guests enjoyed drinks and canapés. We captured some great expressions during the speeches and some fun friends photographs after the meal. A DJ and a Band got the evening going where we left Julia & Chris and their guests dancing the night away!

Llansantffraed Court Hotel was the beautiful setting for their Civil Ceremony and it was a relaxed atmosphere with the ceremony taking place at 4pm. We hadn’t had a rainy Wedding day for a while, but it didn’t stop Rachel & Kris having their photographs taken outside on their Wedding Day! We joined Rachel and her Bridesmaids, Mum & Aunt in the Bridal suite where she had her make up applied by Leanne and her hair styled by Gaynor & Sian. We left them all to it for a little while to go and find Kris and his Best Man, Usher and family to take some pre-ceremony photographs, all of the men looked smart in their light grey suits from Dyfed Menswear and the ladies looked gorgeous in their outfits too! When we went back to the Bridal suite the Bridesmaids were in their fuschia coloured dresses and they then helped Rachel in to her beautiful dress from All About Eve in Newport and her wedding shoes which were unusually sparkly from Rainbow! It started to rain before the ceremony so Rachel and her Dad stayed inside the hotel to enter. After a very emotional ceremony everyone stayed indoors with their welcome drinks and were really happy to come outside under a huge tree that acted as a canopy and kept everyone dry! Rachel & Kris were brilliant sports and remained outside for their Bridal portraits, happy to walk under our white Bridal ‘double umbrella’! After their beautiful meal it was time for the speeches, all 7 of them! There was just a bit of time to have a few more photographs of their friends and then the DJ got the evening started with their first dance and got everyone else up dancing straight afterwards. They are heading off on their honeymoon in September to Las Vegas, where Kris proposed!!!

Here is a first look at some of our favourite images from Sarah & Paul’s wedding at the Cwrt Bleddyn Hotel near Usk. Sarah & Paul travelled all the way from Brisbane Australia!!!! Paul came home with Sarah who is Australian, to reaffirm their vows with their 2 children and Sarah’s family & Bridesmaids in tow! We started out at the Park Plaza Hotel in Cardiff with Sarah and her Bridesmaids where she had her make up applied by the excellent Kirsty from MAC make Up also with her Mum & dad and Nan and Paul’s Mum helping out with preparations. At the hotel we met up with Paul and his family and groomsmen who were all wearing kilts! The ceremony and reception were both at The Cwrt Bleddyn Hotel in Usk and they had a Humanist ceremony, the first one we have ever photographed! Sarah & her Dad and Bridesmaids were transported to the venue in a 1935 Vauxhall BXL 7 passenger Limousine from Henrietta Hire. After the ceremony the guests had drinks in the courtyard and we were able to photograph their family & friends photographs in the lovely grounds, Sarah & Paul also had a ride in the car in the surrounding countryside. As a surprise miniature ponies were instroduced to the lovely couple to present a ‘lucky horseshoe’! The whole day was captured on video by Andrew O’Leary from SLR Creations. Sarah & Paul then spent a fabulous week in Paris for their honeymoon.

This post contains a choice of our favourite images from the wedding of Kate & Damien at Llansantffraed Court Hotel, near Abergavenny. Kate got ready with her bridesmaids in one of the rooms at Llansantffraed Court Hotel. The ceremony took place at the St.Bridges, the small church at the end of the grounds at the Llansantffraed Court Hotel, where we met Damien and the boys. It was certainly a tight squeeze in the church, but at least it kept everyone a little warmer in the freezing December conditions. We took a few shots outside the church before walking back to the Hotel with Kate and Damien and getting inside out of the cold. The marquee looked amazing, helped as usual by the beautiful table displays from Emma at Love Lily in Abergavenny.
This post contains a choice of our favourite wedding photos from the wedding of Michelle and Matthew at the Angel Hotel Abergavenny. Michelle got ready with her bridesmaid and family at her parent’s house in Monmouth. The ceremony took place in Monmouth Baptist Church. After the ceremony we took a few family portraits in the church grounds opposite and then went on to the Angel Hotel Abergavenny. Michelle and Matthew wanted their bridal portraits in the grounds of Abergavenny Castle just up the road from the hotel. We then went back to the Angel Hotel Abergavenny and covered the speeches.
This post contains a choice of our favourite images from the wedding of Libby & Matt at Llansantffraed Court Hotel, near Abergavenny. We met Matt at St. Mary’s Priory in Abergavenny before the ceremony. Libby arrived on time with her dad and almost lost her veil to a sudden gust of wind, great catch by an Usher!! The ceremony was great in the magnificent church. A big thank you to Father Mark Soady who kindly allowed us to use the alter for some family portraits as the rain came down. It was then a mad dash to Llansantffraed Court Hotel where we completed the Bridal portraits. We used some indoor areas for the bridal portraits as the bad weather continued. Libby and Matt were very brave and managed to get a few quick shots in the wonderful grounds at Llansantffraed Court Hotel.
This post contains a choice of our favourite images from a recent wedding at Llansantffraed Court Hotel, near Abergavenny. The bride got ready with her close friends and family in the bridal suite at Llansantffraed Court Hotel. The ceremony took place in the small church at the end of the hotel grounds. We took a few family portraits in the church grounds before going back to the hotel to complete them. The weather was kind and we were able to do all the bridal portraits in the beautiful grounds of the Llansantffraed Court Hotel. It was great fun photographing through the speeches. The fun carried on into the evening.
This post contains a choice of my favorite images from the wedding of Sarah and Andrew at Glen yr Afon in Usk, South Wales. Sarah and Andrew chose to have their winter civil wedding at the Glen yr Afon Hotel in Usk. Sarah got ready with some close friends and family in the bridal suite. The ceremony room looked amazing as always at the Glen yr Afon. The weather was dry and we were able to take all the family portraits outside. We used the grounds of the hotel to take the bridal portraits. There was some lovely warm lighting which a surprising amount of colour for this time of year.
Wedding Photography at Treowen House, Wanastow, Monmouthshire. Jen and Mik had a very early civil ceremony at Treowen House. The weather was great and so the ceremony took place in he doorway, with all the guests looking on from the lawn. The order of the day was defin1tely fun, with games on the front and back lawn. The grounds of Treowen House are lovely and we were able to use the lake in the field below the house to take some bridal portraits. Jen’s parents kindly decorated the front lawn with some white kites. The inside of the house is also lovely with lots of character features such as the lovely old wooden staircase and the Drawing room. The barrels of ale were going down well with the guests on the back lawn, especially with the mouthwatering smell of the hog roast in the air.
