Coed Y Mwstwr Hotel Wedding Photography

This fabulous couple had their Wedding Reception at The Coed Y Mwstwr Hotel, Coychurch, Bridgend.  We started in Llantwit Fardre at Ceri’s parents house with a Bridesmaid, Pebble, applying make up and Nadine creating hair styles!  The rainy, wild & windy weather certainly didn’t dampen their mood as laughter was constant whilst they were all getting ready!  Though there were two emotional moments when Ceri opened her presents from Kieran and when she walked down the stairs to her Mum & Dad waiting at the bottom.  We photographed all of the detail such as the dress, shoes jewellery etc. using the Bridesmaids dress, made by a family friend, which was navy blue with a burnt orange belt, to keep with the colour theme that was chosen.  They totally complimented Ceri’s dress Paloma Blanca from Laura May, which was very floaty with French Alencon lace and a ruffled organdy skirt!  The beautiful flowers from Flower Power in Church Village finished off the look perfectly.  We arrived at St Illtud’s Church in Upper Church Village a few minutes prior to the ceremony.  The Ushers were on hand with umbrellas to help the Bridesmaids and Ceri in to the church, though it stopped raining just in time!  After the ceremony we caught up on all of the photographs of Kieran and his family and Best Men and Ushers in their smart navy suits from Dyfed Menswear, with their burnt orange rose button holes.  They were driven to the Coed Y Mwstwr Hotel in the Vintage Beauford they had hired for the day.  A lot of thought had gone in to decorating their room for the Wedding Breakfast, with pretty lace bows on their chair covers and the table names appropriately chosen as their favourite restaurants – appropriate as Kieran is a Head Chef at The Chapel 1877 restaurant in Cardiff!  Even though it was a very blustery day we had great fun photographing them in the grounds of the hotel and all of the guests were great sports to come outside for their photos too.  The evening was kicked off by their amazing DJ and then their band Dansette added some live music too!  We hope they have a fab honeymoon on safari!!

Linda & Rachel’s Civil Partnership at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama was the perfect venue for this gorgeous couple’s special day!  The sun shone, their 26 guests arrived in good time and Rachel’s cousin drove them to the ceremony that was being held in the converted stables, in their very own VW Campervan, complete with blue ribbons!  They both looked elegant in LK Bennett dresses and shoes, complimented by single ‘felt’ white roses.  Their roses also matched the table centres that were very cleverly created by Sarah Jones from The Mustard Pot.  The ceremony room was adorned with wicker and wooden hearts, one each for their guests who were lovingly invited to share their big moment!  It was a beautiful day for walking in the park which is exactly what we did with the wedding party and took them in to Bute Park at Cardiff Castle for some natural and a couple of formal family and friends photographs.  They headed back in to the Anthony Hopkins Centre for their Wedding breakfast which was prepared and served by staff from the college.  Once the heartfelt speeches were delivered we headed off to the main entrance of the College for the evening party where a further 150 guests joined them!   Linda & Rachel made their entrance across the walkway above their guests to the sounds of ‘Here Come the Girls’ by the Sugababes much to their guests delight!  Once they had danced their First Dance they then cut their cake, suitably adorned with a campervan, made by Rhiannon Parry’s Cake Kitchen.  The main aim of the evening was to keep enjoying and everyone definitely did that, dancing the night away!

Oxwich Bay Hotel Wedding Photography

The Oxwich Bay Hotel was the setting for this beach mad couple!  Dee & Gareth love the beach so much that Gareth proposed at Llangenith 2 years ago!  Dee got ready in the hotel, bringing Kate, her hairdresser and her make up artist Julie to prepare her, her Mum and Bridesmaids for the fabulous day.  Her Mum, Ilean, helped her in to her beautiful dress from Allison Jayne and the Bridesmaids complimented her in their Royal Navy Blue (Dee’s favourite colour) dresses, that were from The Cardiff Bridal Centre.  The beautiful flowers, yellow Calla Lillies and Roses were from Flower Art in Llanelli and provided a real Spring feel to the day.  It rained for the first part of the day and after the lovely ceremony at the hotel, we took a few family photographs in the ceremony room but then the guests transferred to the marquee for their welcome drinks.  This is where we photographed Dee & Gareth with their cake, personalised with pics of them, kindly made by Gareth’s cousin, whose company is Cake a chance on Me!  Their tables were beautifully decorated with hessian favours and chocolate shells! As soon as it stopped raining Dee & Gareth were brilliant sports and we went to the waters edge for some fab photos of them with the waves lapping at their feet and even a couple of their Groomsmen & their partners came to join them with some confetti throwing!  They spent the week after their wedding relaxing in Cornwall but lucky things have another honeymoon to look forward to later in the year to South Africa!!!  It was a fab day with fab families!

Rowton Castle Wedding Photography

Rowton Castle Wedding Photography

We headed north, well as far as the Telford area anyway, to Rowton Castle in Shropshire for this Spring wedding!  Sarah & James had ordered the sun and it kindly obliged, which meant that Sarah didn’t have to cover her beautiful dress  from The Bridal Boutique in Somerset, so the exquisite lace detail was on show all day.  We arrived at Sarah’s parent’s house where the hairdressers were completing their creations and Lou, Sarah’s Sister was applying Bridesmaid’s make up!  Sarah applied her own make up, it was all very relaxed.  Once Sarah was ready, helped by her Mum, we took some photographs in the back garden, where it was lovely and warm (and where we had to divert the path of one of the cats which was making a beeline for Sarah!!)  We arrived at St Andrew’s Church in Shifnal to be met by James and his Groomsmen, all wearing mid-grey suits from Slaters menswear. Sarah arrived on time and the service was really personal to them, including Jenny, one of the Bridesmaids, singing an Elton John track, ‘Your Song’.  James is a keen Cricketer, so it was only fitting that they had a ‘Guard of honour’ with the boys holding their cricket bats instead of swords and they both walked through to be greeted by the confetti throwers!  At Rowton Castle, they arrived in their Vintage Beaufort Car with the roof down, which made for lovely photographs inside & out, before heading through to the back of the castle where we took family and friends photographs before heading off down to the small lake for some gorgeous shots of the two of them!  The final ‘formal’ shot of the day was with their stunning cake, lovingly made by James’s Sister, Ruth (also a Bridesmaid).  The speeches came after the Wedding Breakfast, which were all very well received despite the nerves.  Everyone had fun having their photographs taken in the ‘Photobooth’ before watching Sarah & James take to the dance floor, where the DJ made sure they were joined by their guests and kept them dancing in to the night!

Angel Hotel Wedding Photography

Angel Hotel Abergavenny Wedding Photography

The Wedding of Julia & Chris took place at The Angel Hotel Abergavenny on the windiest and wettest day in December, but it did not stop everyone enjoying themselves!  We had a very warm welcome at Julia’s Mum & Dad’s home where Julia was getting ready.  While Julia’s Dad was putting some finishing touches to his speech, we busied ourselves with photographing some of the lovely detail of the day including some gorgeous red roses from Love Lily.  Julia’s friends Emma & Beth arrived to help her to get in to her beautiful Wedding dress, jewellery and veil.  We went ahead to Our Lady’s St Michael’s Church in Abergavenny to meet up with Chris, his family and his Best Man Rob.  Julia’s brothers, brothers in law and nephews were showing guests to their seats.  The rain didn’t let up but Julia managed to get to the church in her Dad’s Mercedes without getting soaking wet and a beautiful service followed.  Father Richard Simon, kindly, allowed us to take the Family photographs at the altar after the ceremony, we then continued to take the rest of the photographs at The Angel Hotel Abergavenny, where the Ballroom had been decorated fabulously for the Wedding breakfast.  A Brass Band were playing Christmas tunes whilst the guests enjoyed drinks and canapés.  We captured some great expressions during the speeches and some fun friends photographs after the meal.  A DJ and a Band got the evening going where we left Julia & Chris and their guests dancing the night away!

Llansantffread Court Hotel Wedding Photography

Llansantffread Court Hotel Wedding Photography

Here are a few of our favourite images from our latest wedding of Eleanor & Matt at Llansantffraed Court Hotel, near Abergavenny.  We joined Eleanor, her bridesmaids and family at the hotel, where they were getting ready applying their own make up, beautifully!  All was calm and once the bridesmaids in their chocolate brown dresses from the Cardiff Bridal Centre and her Mum were ready they helped Eleanor in to her beautiful dress which was from Sentiments in Bridgend.  We met up with Matt once he had arrived at the hotel with his Groomsmen and family.  The boys looking very smart in their grey Hugo Boss suits with orange ties that complimented the colour theme for the day of Autumnal colours.  We were able to photograph Eleanor and her family prior to the ceremony too just before proceedings got under way.  The flowers from Hilary’s in Abergavenny added the final touch with beautiful bouquets and decorative roses also in the autumnal colours of orange and cream.  Once the lovely ceremony had taken place it was dry enough for the Bridal party and their guests to be outside on the lovely terrace at Llansantffraed Court Hotel and enjoy their welcome drinks, despite the cold, whilst we took the family photographs on the pathway under the trees that are a beautiful colour at this time of year, just perfect for Eleanor & Matt’s day.  They then enjoyed a beautifully cooked meal before speeches got under way with laughter and tears!  Having cut the gorgeous cake made by Boutique Bakehouse in Bristol the reception room was cleared to make way for the band, family friends of Matt’s, who played a fab mixture of music and kept the dance floor  full all night!!  Looking forward to seeing the happy couple again when they return from their amazing honeymoon in Bali!

Civil Partnership Pencoed House

Civil Partnership Pencoed House

Here are a few of our favourite images from Andy & Paul’s Civil Partnership that took place at Pencoed House Estate.  We arrived a bit earlier than planned and the boys were already virtually ready and the sun was shining, so we wasted no time in getting some fab photographs of the both of them in their ‘bridal’ cottage and the beautiful grounds prior to the ceremony!  Andy looked extremely smart in his black suit which was complimented by a silver waistcoat and purple tie & handkerchief which went perfectly with Paul’s equally smart black and purple kilt attire that was from Dyfed Menswear!  Both of their immediate families were getting ready in the cottage close to theirs so we captured family photographs, champagne toasts and more than a few emotional tears!  The colour theme for the day was black, white, silver & purple, the ceremony/reception room had been decorated accordingly and looked stunning, only outshone by the magnificent cake that was displayed from the beginning of the day, made by Happy Occasions Cakes (aka Paul!)  The beautiful flowers from Lisa at Bella B in Penarth added the final touch.  Once the guests had been seated Paul was walked down the aisle by his Mum, Mary closely followed by Andy and his Mum, Ann.  Once the Civil Partnership was completed and whilst the register was being signed a singer stood up to serenade us, however, she sang Abba’s ‘I do, I do, I do , I do, I do’ ….and before long all of the guests had joined in too!!  We managed to get everyone outside for a big group photograph and confetti before the rain finally came, but the families and friends were happy to be photographed under umbrellas.  Chrissy Marshall of Sensible Pencil entertained the guests by sketching their Caricatures, whilst Shelley Fairplay played beautiful background music on her harp.  The food provided by Spiros Catering was excellent.  The speeches were fab from Paul & his Dad, Andy and his best friend Heidi.  The whole day was kept smooth running by MC Jim Young who added messages from absent friends and family.  The grand finale to the day was Andy & Paul doing their first dance which they had added their own twist to and had rehearsed a routine to perform to Shirley Bassey’s ‘get this party started’!  It was amazing!  The resident DJ made sure top tunes were played to keep everyone dancing!

Cardiff City Hall Wedding Photography

Cardiff City Hall wedding Photography

The fab wedding day of Stacey & Stephen started at The City Hall, Cardiff for an intimate Civil Ceremony in front of their close family & friends.  Stephen, looking very smart in his Ted Baker suit and their son Rhys, their Page Boy in a matching suit and waistcoat.  They arrived along with his family including his Grandad and his Best Man, Craig.  As it was raining initially we managed to take a few photographs under cover just outside the entrance to the City Hall.  Shortly after which Stacey and her Dad, Terry, arrived, driven by a close friend Mike.  Stacey looked gorgeous in her dress from Berkertex Brides and she was joined by their daughter Jennifer who, with Jessica were the Flower Girls and her best friend Katie was her Bridesmaid.  They all looked stunning in white & red, the colour theme for the day.  It was an emotional ceremony, with lots of cheers for the lovely couple!  The rain had stopped and the sun was even trying to shine so we walked over to the fountains and took some family & friends photographs before whisking Stacey & Stephen over to the picturesque Museum steps for some photographs of just the two of them.  The reception venue in Rhiwbina Recreational Club was almost unrecognisible as it had been decorated beautifully with organza and fairy lights and was the location for a gorgeous wedding breakfast and fab speeches.  The magician kept the children entertained before the disco started and the dancefloor didn’t empty after Stacey and Stephen had taken to the floor for their first dance!  It was a very relaxed day, just what they wanted!

Wedding Photography New House Country Hotel

Wedding Photography New House Country Hotel Cardiff

Katy & Mike travelled from their home in Oxford for their lovely wedding in St Isan’s Church, Llanishen and The New House Country Hotel, Thornhill.  Since the romantic proposal on Swyncombe Down in Oxfordshire Katy and her Mum, Sheila, had arranged the wedding contacting local suppliers to enhance the day.  Such as the beautiful flowers from The Flower Lodge in Rhiwbina which had the added touch of sprigs of Rosemary in them!  It was very calm at Katy’s parent’s house when we arrived, hair had been done and Katy was applying her own make up before getting in to her stunning Bridal gown from High Society in Cowbridge with the help of her Mum and 2 Bridesmaids. Two cars from Kennedy Classics transported the Bridal party to the church where we had gone ahead to photograph Mike with his family, his Best Man and Ushers (all of the Ushers were family members too!).  It was at this point that we met the gorgeous Flower Girls and Page Boy.  It was a misty, damp day but everyone was smiling and it didn’t stop the guests enjoying themselves.  After the lovely ceremony there was an array of umbrellas and lots of photographs. We even managed a confetti shot under the litch gate.  At the New House Country Hotel we photographed the families in the Wyndham suite where the reception was and took some fab shots of Katy and Mike in their Bridal Suite.  Luckily it then had time to dry up outside so we went to the amazing Sequoia tree in the grounds – one of the tallest of its kind in Wales!  We were lucky enough to be able to enjoy the delicious wedding breakfast with the guests before taking some more photographs of them during the speeches.  The evening was started by the band, Undercover, who played their first dance and got people on the dance floor immediately with their excellent set.  Katy & Mike are now enjoying their honeymoon in Sicily, lucky things!!

Vale Hotel Wedding Photography

The Vale Hotel and Spa in Hensol was the location for Nicola & Ryan’s fab wedding day!  Nicola got ready at her parent’s house, she was back from the hairdresser when we arrived with her 2 Bridesmaids and Mum having their make up applied.  The first person to start to get ready was Dad as he wore a kilt of Cunningham tartan and it took him 40 minutes to put on!  The Bridesmaids got in to their Teal dresses from Ab Fab and with the help of Mum, Karen, they helped Nicola in to her gorgeous dress from Perfections, Cardiff.  Some more family members in their respective tartan kilts arrived, not long before Nicola was ready to get in to her car from the fab Perfect Days company to be driven to the hotel.  We arrived before Nicola and took some photographs of Ryan and his family and Groomsmen outside the conservatory where they had their ceremony.  They all looked very smart in their grey suits and teal cravats (Ryan’s was cream to match Nicola) that were hired from Oxford House in Blaengarw.  It was a perfect sunny day and after the ceremony everybody went outside on to the terrace overlooking the golf course, where we photographed them in their respective families and generally enjoying themselves.  The Wedding Breakfast was served after the speeches and whilst the room was made up for the evening reception we were able to take Nicloa and Ryan back outside to take advantage of the stunning sunset.  The evening was kicked off with Nicola & Ryan cutting their cake which was from Lavendar Cottage, Ewenny and the band, Perfect Day, who we have already photographed this year, got everyone up dancing straight away after the first dance!
