The Vale Hotel and Spa in Hensol was the location for Nicola & Ryan’s fab wedding day! Nicola got ready at her parent’s house, she was back from the hairdresser when we arrived with her 2 Bridesmaids and Mum having their make up applied. The first person to start to get ready was Dad as he wore a kilt of Cunningham tartan and it took him 40 minutes to put on! The Bridesmaids got in to their Teal dresses from Ab Fab and with the help of Mum, Karen, they helped Nicola in to her gorgeous dress from Perfections, Cardiff. Some more family members in their respective tartan kilts arrived, not long before Nicola was ready to get in to her car from the fab Perfect Days company to be driven to the hotel. We arrived before Nicola and took some photographs of Ryan and his family and Groomsmen outside the conservatory where they had their ceremony. They all looked very smart in their grey suits and teal cravats (Ryan’s was cream to match Nicola) that were hired from Oxford House in Blaengarw. It was a perfect sunny day and after the ceremony everybody went outside on to the terrace overlooking the golf course, where we photographed them in their respective families and generally enjoying themselves. The Wedding Breakfast was served after the speeches and whilst the room was made up for the evening reception we were able to take Nicloa and Ryan back outside to take advantage of the stunning sunset. The evening was kicked off with Nicola & Ryan cutting their cake which was from Lavendar Cottage, Ewenny and the band, Perfect Day, who we have already photographed this year, got everyone up dancing straight away after the first dance!

The New House Country Hotel was the fab setting for Kellieann and Ian’s intimate wedding! Kellieann went to the hairdresser and then got to the New House Country Hotel to have her make up done by Siobhan and to get dressed in to her gorgeous wedding dress with a pretty lace neckline and her white converse ‘bling’ daps! Her daughter Melanie and one of her bridesmaids were there to help out. The theme was bright and colourful with the flowers designed by Rob & CJ at The Village Flower Studio, Rumney, Cardiff. When the other 3 Bridesmaids arrived they got into their individually coloured dresses one orange, one yellow, one purple and one pink! Gerberas were the chosen flower that made up the bouquets, button holes & table decorations, with the added touch of a ‘Freedom Rose’! Ian and his Groomsmen, their Dads and Sons were all in Morning Suits with smart top hats. Kellieann’s proud teenage Sons Connor & Cameron walked their Mum down the aisle to Ian, with 2 ring bearers leading the way! After the ceremony we all went outside. We took a photograph of the whole wedding party from above with the stunning views of Cardiff in the background. Once again, the weather was lovely and so we were able to take all of the photographs outside, utilising the beautiful grounds from the huge Sequoia tree to the landscaped gardens with the house as a backdrop! The speeches were fab from the Bride’s Dad to the best Man who was Ian’s brother, who along with other family and friends of Ian had travelled from Liverpool for the occasion! The evening got under way with their DJ Alan playing their First Dance and then playing some more top tunes that got everyone on to the dancefloor!

We were lucky to work locally again last Saturday at the stunning St Donats Castle and Church for Ceri & Phil’s fab Wedding Day! We started our day in Dinas Powys at Ceri’s parent’s house, she was back from the hairdresser when we arrived, her Sister, Zoe was doing her make up and Dad, Ian, was cooking their breakfast on the barbeque outside! The 3 Bridesmaids got into their Royal Blue dresses before helping Ceri into her beautiful dress from Berketex Brides that had lovely lace detail on the shoulders that followed down through the whole dress and the flowers from the Market Garden in Ely complimented all of the dresses and suits. Proud Mum, Margo & Dad were waiting at the bottom of the stairs with the Bridesmaids and we then went outside in to the immaculate garden for some photographs. Phil, the boys and his family were waiting patiently at the church in their smart navy suits from Jo Mclaren in Teddington. It was lovely to see Father Anthony again, he gave a lovely service and made everyone feel relaxed and welcome. The weather was ‘unexpectedly’ gorgeous so we were able to take all of the photographs outside, everyone walked back up the hill from the church to the castle and had welcome drinks and canapés in the courtyard and out on the terrace. After the tasty wedding breakfast, provided by the Town and Country Caterers we went with Ceri & Phil down to the waters edge, it had poured down whilst they were eating so there were some cool clouds to incorporate! All their guests were great fun and took part in a Marryoke of Journey’s Don’t Stop Believing filmed by Sally & Emma of Orchid Films, for a look at the hilarious results click here. After cutting the cake that was made by Bridesmaid, Rhianna, they took to the dancefloor and once their first dance had occurred the brilliant band ‘Session’ took to the stage, they were also guests, Ceri was also one of the other Bridesmaids!

Llansantffraed Court Hotel was the beautiful setting for their Civil Ceremony and it was a relaxed atmosphere with the ceremony taking place at 4pm. We hadn’t had a rainy Wedding day for a while, but it didn’t stop Rachel & Kris having their photographs taken outside on their Wedding Day! We joined Rachel and her Bridesmaids, Mum & Aunt in the Bridal suite where she had her make up applied by Leanne and her hair styled by Gaynor & Sian. We left them all to it for a little while to go and find Kris and his Best Man, Usher and family to take some pre-ceremony photographs, all of the men looked smart in their light grey suits from Dyfed Menswear and the ladies looked gorgeous in their outfits too! When we went back to the Bridal suite the Bridesmaids were in their fuschia coloured dresses and they then helped Rachel in to her beautiful dress from All About Eve in Newport and her wedding shoes which were unusually sparkly from Rainbow! It started to rain before the ceremony so Rachel and her Dad stayed inside the hotel to enter. After a very emotional ceremony everyone stayed indoors with their welcome drinks and were really happy to come outside under a huge tree that acted as a canopy and kept everyone dry! Rachel & Kris were brilliant sports and remained outside for their Bridal portraits, happy to walk under our white Bridal ‘double umbrella’! After their beautiful meal it was time for the speeches, all 7 of them! There was just a bit of time to have a few more photographs of their friends and then the DJ got the evening started with their first dance and got everyone else up dancing straight afterwards. They are heading off on their honeymoon in September to Las Vegas, where Kris proposed!!!

Here is a first look at some of our favourite images from Charlotte & Andrew’s wedding, the first wedding reception to be photographed from the present owners at Llanerch Vineyard! Charlotte & her parents and Bridesmaids got ready at the vineyard in the beautiful Cariad room and their theme for the day was very appropriately sage & ivory which was very befitting for such a countryside venue! Charlotte’s dress was from Timeless Elegance and was just that, she looked extremely elegant and the Bridesmaids who were all wearing sage coloured dresses really complimented her. The Groom and his Groomsmen, 2 young nephews and both the Dads wore tartan kilts so we were all glad that the temperature had dropped for the day!! The wedding had been two years in the planning since the proposal in Lindos, Greece and we were honoured to be asked to photograph the wedding as we have already photographed another member of the family’s wedding. The ceremony took place at St Isan’s Church in Llanishen where Charlotte arrived 15 minutes early in her beautiful Beauford hired from Perfect Day Wedding Cars along with the vintage bus that transported the bridesmaids and both Mum’s to and from the vineyard. We were able to photograph in so many areas at the reception venue, from the Woodland Pathway to walking through the vines in front of the farmhouse that is now the restaurant, shop and some bedrooms. The delicious food was provided by EJ Catering and the day went very smoothly thanks to the co-ordination of Emma Butler from Sylvie and Joan Creative Weddings and Events. The evening entertainment was provided by the really cool band The Somebodys who had everyone up dancing straight after the First Dance! The whole day was captured on video by Accesi.

Here is a first look at some of our favourite images from Sarah & Paul’s wedding at the Cwrt Bleddyn Hotel near Usk. Sarah & Paul travelled all the way from Brisbane Australia!!!! Paul came home with Sarah who is Australian, to reaffirm their vows with their 2 children and Sarah’s family & Bridesmaids in tow! We started out at the Park Plaza Hotel in Cardiff with Sarah and her Bridesmaids where she had her make up applied by the excellent Kirsty from MAC make Up also with her Mum & dad and Nan and Paul’s Mum helping out with preparations. At the hotel we met up with Paul and his family and groomsmen who were all wearing kilts! The ceremony and reception were both at The Cwrt Bleddyn Hotel in Usk and they had a Humanist ceremony, the first one we have ever photographed! Sarah & her Dad and Bridesmaids were transported to the venue in a 1935 Vauxhall BXL 7 passenger Limousine from Henrietta Hire. After the ceremony the guests had drinks in the courtyard and we were able to photograph their family & friends photographs in the lovely grounds, Sarah & Paul also had a ride in the car in the surrounding countryside. As a surprise miniature ponies were instroduced to the lovely couple to present a ‘lucky horseshoe’! The whole day was captured on video by Andrew O’Leary from SLR Creations. Sarah & Paul then spent a fabulous week in Paris for their honeymoon.

Here are a few of our favourite images from Parisa & Tim’s wedding at Cardiff Castle & St. David’s Hotel, Cardiff Bay. Starting at their home in Newport, where Parisa was having her make up applied by a MAC make up artist and being helped in to her dress by her Bridesmaids who were all wearing mocha coloured dresses from ‘Suits You!’ Parisa’s dress was a beautiful lace creation from ‘All About Eve’. It was a stunning blue sky & sunny day, perfect for their ceremony setting at Cardiff Castle. We met up with Tim and his Best Man and Ushers who were all in smart Navy suits from Slater’s Menswear. The wedding was just over a year from the proposal which took place at The Newbridge On Usk and Parisa’s engagement ring was made form a diamond that they purchased in New York and then had made by ‘Diamond Geezer’ a company owned by Dragon’s Den James Khan!! After the ceremony all the guests enjoyed the shade around the Castle grounds and it is here that we photographed the whole group of guests and then the family photographs. After spending time with Parisa and Tim utilising the beautiful Castle inside & out for their Bridal portraits we then headed off to St David’s Hotel Cardiff where the guests were waiting for them to throw their confetti and enjoy their Wedding breakfast! The evening entertainment was provided by the fab band Pelican Groove who had everyone up dancing straight after the First Dance!.

Here are a few of our favourite images from our latest wedding of Lori & Chris at St George’s Church, Cwmparc & The Coed Y Mwstwr Hotel, Coychurch nr Bridgend (3 years after the proposal in romantic Paris!). We started at Lori’s parent’s house in Treorchy where she was helped in to her dress, which was from Rowberry’s in Swansea, by Mum & her 5 Bridesmaids. The colour theme was ivory and pistachio, also the colour of the Bridesmaids dresses which were from Perfection in Cardiff, along with the decoration of the room and tables at The Coed Y Mwstr Hotel. Chris, his best man and Ushers were waiting nervously (though the news of a George North try for the Lions put a smile on their faces!) for us at the Church in their smart suits form Dyfed Menswear, with the Treorchy Male Voice Choir already entertaining the guests! After the ceremony we were able to take the traditional ‘confetti’ shot just outside under the Church gates, then Lori & Chris got in to their 1930′s Style 2 Door Beauford Convertible supplied by Illtud Wedding Cars also from Llantwit Major. Guests then made their way to The Coed Y Mwstwr Hotel for drinks and canapes. We took all of the family portraits in front and the side of the hotel, utilising the various backdrops that the hotel provides. After the Wedding Breakfast we took Lori & Chris back down the driveway to take some beautiful Bridal Portraits in the field of buttercups and walking through the archway of trees! We captured the first dance and then left the happy couple and their fab family and friends to dance the night away to the band Jukebox!

Here are a few of our favourite images from the wedding of Lauren & Chris! It all started with a proposal on a Caribbean Cruise and the destinations visited on the cruise provided their table names for the Wedding Reception! Lauren got ready in her parent’s house with her Bridesmaids and Mum having their finishing touches to their Make up, expertly applied by Victoria from MAC in the Capitol Centre in Cardiff. Conveniently Chris was getting ready in their home which is just around the corner so we went to catch the boys finishing their preparations, doing up ties adding cufflinks and having a glass of fizz! Lauren had her Maid of Honour and two Bridesmaids to help her in to her dress which along with their dresses came from Laura May and her Jimmy Choos!! The 2 x Phantom Rolls Royce arrived to take the girls and Mum & Dad to St Margaret’s Church in Aberaman. The rain held off for Lauren to get in to the church but after a lovely service it was raining again so we headed straight off to the Coed Y Mwstwr Hotel, Coychurch, Bridgend. We started photographing in the amazing new Hendre Suite, with the beautiful cake made by Emma Jayne of Aberdare, it was very cleverly designed to replicate Lauren’s dress! The colour theme for the day was pink and the chair covers and table decorations reflected this, they were beautifully decorated by Mathew & Onn. The rain stopped and we photographed Lauren & Chris with their cars, they even got to have a drive of them in the hotel grounds!! The evening entertainment was provided by a DJ followed the live performance of the band ‘Vegas Live’!

Here are a few of our favourite images from last Saturdays wedding of Kate & Bryn! We started at St Illtyd’s Church in Llantwit Major – we just had to walk out of front door and we were at work! In fact, everyone who contributed to their special day were local to Llantwit apart from the Men’s suits they were from Oh Suit Hire in Pontycymmer. Kate was driven to the church from her nearby home at Purlon Farm in Llantwit by her Uncle. It was a lovely service, taken by Father Anthony who knows the Powell family very well and blessed their beautiful rings that were from Crouch the Jewellers. The Bridesmaids arrived before Kate and her dad and we had the first look at their dresses, handmade by Kate as was her own Beautiful wedding dress! The whole theme of the day was about wild flowers, forest and the natural countryside, the Bridesmaids’ dresses reflected that and were simple in design. All of the Bridesmaids & Ushers including the Best Man were family members. Cresta Caterers provided beautiful food that was served to the guests in the ‘Cow Shed’, though you would never have guessed that it was a shed of any description as Kate & Bryn had worked amazingly hard at creating a wooded forest. The table plan, place and table names were all hand carved, with dried flowers for their centre pieces and even a tree stump for their cake stand. The cake was made by their next door neighbour, Stella, which Kate & Bryn cut with a sword! We shot all of the family portraits in the garden in front of the farm house and then the Bridal portraits in the surrounding field. The evening entertainment was provided by a DJ who followed the live performance of local band ‘Finding Fiona’!
